Darren Fishburn missing after wife’s body found

Hunter Valley police say they do not believe the missing husband of a woman found dead at Greta this week is armed.

The body of 43-year-old Tammy Sindermann was found in the back shed of her grandmother’s home two days ago.

A preliminary post mortem examination suggests she was murdered.

Her 42-year-old husband Darren Fishburn is now missing, prompting a large-scale search in the Wyee area in southern Lake Macquarie.

Detective Inspector Trent King says is refusing to say if he is being treated as a suspect but says police are concerned for his welfare.

“We haven’t discounted anything in terms of the investigation at this time, but we do have concerns in relation to his health,” he said.

“There’s nothing to indicate that he would be armed at this stage.”

“I believe the last confirmed sighting was on Monday.”

Detective Inspector King says police are hoping Ms Sindermann’s grandmother who owns the house, will be able to shed some light on what happened.

“Certainly, people are endeavouring to speak to her in the near future to ascertain what information she may have,” he said.

“As part of the investigation we speak to all the available members of the family and again the investigation is in its infancy, it’s quite early on in the investigation and we’re exploring all the options at the moment.”
