Israeli bulldozers raze farmlands in Gaza

Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Four Israeli bulldozers protected by a number of tanks and armoured vehicles invaded on Tuesday morning eastern farmlands in the south of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli invasion was launched from the Israeli military base of Kisufim in the east of southern Gaza city of Khan Younis.

Eyewitnesses said that the invading Israeli occupation forces fired smoke bombs and razed wide swathes of the Palestinian farms.

According to the witnesses, this is the first time this kind of invasion takes place since the end of the 51-day Israeli offensive on Gaza in 2014, when the Israeli occupation killed more than 2,260 Palestinians and wounded 11,000 others.

“Previous invasions occurred after the 2014 offensive crossed only few metres of the fence along the borders,” and eyewitness told Days of Palestine. “However, the Israeli military went about 100 metre deep inside the Palestinian farms.”

The eyewitness confirmed the reports about razing Palestinian farms and greenhouses in the area. He also said that they destroyed a water well used to irrigate farms in the area.
