A 25-year-old woman who was set alight in her Perth home faces a lengthy recovery, doctors say.
Dana Vulin is in a critical but stable condition in Royal Perth Hospital with burns to up to 60 per cent of her body.
She was found badly burned in her apartment at Rivervale in Perth’s inner south on Thursday morning.
Police believe it was a premeditated attack.
A neighbour who found Ms Vulin smouldering in the doorway of her apartment, put her under her shower and asked another resident to call an ambulance.
RPH burns specialist Suzanne Rea said the next couple of days would be critical for Ms Vulin, who is unconscious and on life support.
She said patients generally faced major surgery such as skin replacement and grafting within days of being badly burned.
Patients faced years of rehabilitation including physiotherapy and psychological support, she said.
Police said they had several leads, and witnesses had reported hearing a disturbance at the apartment on the morning of the attack.
Ms Vulin’s family issued a statement, saying she was “a beautiful, kind woman” who lived life to the fullest and had dedicated her life to helping others and her family.
