Man points gun at Sydney motorist: police

A man has been charged after he allegedly pointed a gun at another motorist in Sydney’s south.

A woman was driving along Botany Street in Kingsford with her two young children about 11.30am (AEST) on Wednesday when a man in a passing car pointed a black firearm at her, police say.

When the woman saw the man pull into a nearby driveway, she called police.

The man was confronted by officers as he emerged from his townhouse’s garage and was allegedly carrying a replica pistol.

He immediately dropped the fake gun and was arrested, police said.

The 21-year-old has since been charged with carrying a firearm in a manner likely to injure a person, custody of an offensive implement, common assault and driving while disqualified.

He is set to appear in Waverley Local Court later on Thursday.
