The sister of Sydney nightclub owner John Ibrahim has been found not guilty of offences relating to the discovery of almost $3 million in cash in the ceiling of her home.
The money, in 95 vacuum sealed plastic bags, was found in Maha Sayour’s western Sydney house during a police search using special equipment.
Ms Sayour had denied two counts of recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime, $2.86 million in cash, in March and April 2009, at her home in South Wentworthville.
In the NSW District Court today, Judge John North – who heard the trial without a jury – found her not guilty of both charges.
