A WOMAN will face court charged with animal cruelty after allegedly throwing her dog out the window of a unit complex in Sydney’s west.
Police say a dispute between a 24-year-old woman and a male friend took place in a unit in Park Avenue, Kingswood, about 3.45pm (AEDT) yesterday.
The woman allegedly picked up her eight-month-old Staffordshire terrier and threw it out of her bedroom window 15 metres above the ground.
The dog was treated by a vet for a broken leg, broken teeth and suspected internal injuries.
Police later charged the woman with cruelty to an animal causing serious injury.
She was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
The dog will remain in care and undergo further tests.
