Rescuers continue whale rescue in Tas

Rescuers will be hoping for more success when they continue their mission to free three remaining whales from shallow water on Tasmania’s west coast.

Marine biologists, Parks and Wildlife Service staff and professional fishermen worked throughout yesterday to save two sperm whales, but another 22 died.

They’re hopeful of rescuing two other sperm whales and a minke whale still trapped in the shallow water of Ocean Beach when rescue operations resume today.
