POLICE have formed a critical incident investigation after two teenagers in a stolen car were shot by officers in Kings Cross overnight.

The incident unfolded around 4:10pm when six people in a Honda Civic, including a 14-year-old driver, veered onto the footpath at the intersection of Darlinghurst and Bayswater roads and allegedly struck a female pedestrian.

Police said officers patrolling the scene opened fire after unsuccessfully trying to stop the vehicle.

Three people have been taken to hospital, including the driver, an 18-year-old passenger, and the female pedestrian.

Graphic video footage has emerged showing police arresting a man at the scene and dragging him along the ground.
