Weekly Culture Round Up: Calling All TV Recappers!

It’s been a week all about fall cleaning. We’re getting the section in back-to-school mode, lining up some exciting events (happy hour!), and filling our calendar with enough fall coverage to make us forget about the pending cooler weather. We survived summer (it was tough): three months of CGI-insanity and hiatuses on most of our favorite shows. I, for one, couldn’t be happier to get my shows back.

As we head into fall, we’re refreshed and ready to get back into the regular swing of things. As you may or may not have heard, we’re on the hunt for a team of fall TV recappers. We’re looking for devoted fans of Homeland, The Mindy Project, New Girl, and Parks and Recreationto commit themselves to coverage. E-mail me with interest or questions.

Also! As we head into fall content, we’d really love your feedback. How does PolicyMic fit into your consumption of culture coverage? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? E-mail me and share your thoughts: [email protected]

Shout Outs of the Week:
Shout out to Glenn Davis whose Breaking Bad recaps have earned a faithful following. His recap on last week’s episode, “Rabid Dog,” was the most read Culture story of the week.

Shout out to Ghezal Hamidi whose piece 200 Years After ‘Frankenstein,’ Science Fiction Is No Longer a Boys’ Club was picked up by Salon. Additional shout out to new writer Casey Jayworkwhose piece Ben Affleck is the Batman Gotham City Needs, was also crossposted by Salon

Save the Date:
Reminder to save the date! We will be holding a PolicyMic Culture Section Happy Hour on Tuesday Sept. 17th. Details to come but expect: the glorious tour of our new digs, some IRL face time with me and Julianne, and a meet and great with some of our awesome New York-based writers.
