A MAN has been charged with murdering a woman in the state’s west last night.

Michael Kelly, a 47-year-old from Apsley, was charged with one count of murder and remanded overnight to face Horsham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Emergency crews were called to a property in Barrack St, Goroke – approximately six hours west of Melbourne – at about 10.30pm and found a 34-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries.

She later died from her injuries.

The woman’s death was the fourth suspicious incident since Friday, stretching the resources of the homicide squad.
