The good folks down in Texas sure do know how to have a good time. The Lone Star State has some of the best gun laws in the nation and in fact, Texans can now open carry!
One business owner decided to celebrate the new law in an awesome way.
According to KHOU-TV, a barbecue restaurant called Brooks’ Place is offering any patron who chooses to open carry a 25 percent discount!
Owner Trent Brooks is encouraging his fellow Texans to practice their right to open carry and asks, “If you haven’t tried it, how do you know you don’t like it?”
Brooks believes that people have the right to protect themselves and says, “I’m a business owner. I have a family. You know, I have a home to protect.”
And that’s why the licensed gun owner wears his sidearm everywhere he goes.
Even Texas has it’s share of liberals and of course they are offended by the whole idea of open carry. “Well, we’ve gotten comments from people saying, you know, stay away from here at all costs,” Brooks said.
“I think it’s just a lot of fear,” a customer named Clark, who is a licensed gun owner said. “Fear of the unknown. Something they’ve never seen before.”
So it looks like the community of Cypress will be seeing a hell of a lot more people open carrying, especially at Brooks’ Place BBQ!
Whether you carry or not you are welcome to eat at Brooks Place. “We’ve received everyone with open arms,” Brooks says.
And if you choose to exercise your Second Amendment rights your delicious food will be cheaper! Awesome!
