Cyclist killed by car near Adelaide

A 63-year-old cyclist has died after being hit by a car in the Adelaide Hills.

The cyclist was riding along a road in Nairne when he was struck about 11.30am (AEST) on Friday by a car being driven by an 83-year-old man, who has been reported by crash investigators for aggravated driving without due care.

The rider was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment but died on Saturday.

The driver will be summonsed to appear in court.

The man’s death takes South Australia’s road toll to 49, compared to 58 at the same time last year.
