Queensland Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk says the Liberal National Party (LNP) is more interested in gloating than governing.
The first sitting of the new Parliament wrapped up late last night.
Ms Palaszczuk says Premier Campbell Newman and his Government MPs are only interested in bragging about their landslide election win.
“It was absolutely appalling the behaviour in the chamber,” she said.
“Now the Premier set these high standards – he said he was going to be humble, he was going to be dignified and he was going to be full of grace.
“We saw none of those issues displayed by any of those MPs sitting in that chamber from the LNP yesterday.”
Treasurer Tim Nicholls says debate is healthy.
“Parliament is always going to be – to use a well-used and hackneyed term – robust,” he said.
“I think after a long period in Opposition a new Government is going to want exercise the mandate that has been given by the people of Queensland.”
