A police officer has been assaulted by a man wielding a metal implement in southern Queensland.
Police were called to a house on Dodd Street in Toowoomba, west of Brisbane at 2am (AEST) on Wednesday.
Police allege a 20-year-old man repeatedly assaulted one of the officers when they attempted to arrest him.
The officer was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.
The man has been has been charged with seven offences, including serious assault, trespass and obstructing police.
He will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
