Officials told Press TV that a law enforcement officer driving a police van was killed late on Sunday when unknown armed men fired at the vehicle in the city of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
In another incident, a bomber targeted a police vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan town and injured five policemen, including deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdul Ghafour.
Security forces cordoned off the area after the attack and transferred the injured policemen to a nearby hospital.
A police vehicle was totally destroyed as well in the bombing attack.
Over 35,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks since 2001, when Islamabad entered an alliance with the US in Washington’s so-called ‘war on terror.’
