The Q60 has the most expansive and user friendly audio and infotainment instrumentation I’ve seen this year. Infiniti InTouch is a dual HD display system, plus navigation with MapCare and Premium Traffic.
The Bose 16-speaker Premium Audio System brings a startling, wondrous atmosphere into the cabin. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Siri Eyes Free, and Wi-Fi Hotspot complete the information and entertainment ensemble.
The Q60 Red Sport 400 is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine, offering 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The seven-speed automatic transmission transitions through the gears smoothly, as the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters welcome driver participation in the experience.
This slick transmission with manual shift mode makes driving a part of the performance dynamics. Driving the Q60 is pure pleasure!
The fuel economy for this powertrain is rated at 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, for a combined average of 23 mpg.
The Red Sport 400 grade has Infiniti’s Direct Adaptive Steering which digitally processes and transmits the driver’s input tot he wheels. It sharpens the response and smoothens the steering on difficult driving surfaces, resulting in reduced fatigue, especially on long distance drives. The Direct Adaptive Steering System offers Personal, Standard, Snow, Eco, and Sport modes. The Red Sport model adds a Sports mode.
Outside, Q60’s dynamic shape and powerful stance underscores its strength and agility, but doesn’t sacrifice its grace and elegance.
Coated in Majestic White, the efficient and attractive exterior is completed by LED head lights and fog lights, signature grille, sleek tail lights, and power moonroof. Power heated outside mirrors with integrated LED turn signal add to safety and ease-of-use.
20 x 9-inch sport aluminum-alloy wheels and sport brakes with red painted calipers extend the Infiniti’s rich good looks.
I really liked the long hood and the sleek shape that underscore its athletic profile. Although long and comfortable, Q60 seemed to have a sport coupe attitude. The muscular body lines flowed across the sides leading to the double arch grille and crescent-shaped C-pillars.
Leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel, leather-appointed seats and advanced control system help raising the comfort and aesthetic value.
The focus point of the cabin is the Infiniti InTouch dual HD display system hosting navigation with MapCare and Premium Traffic. The navigation system was a little sluggish and not as clear as I would have liked. HomeLink garage door control was my favorite convenience feature.
There are more than ten terrific safety and assist features. Automatic Collision Notification and Emergency Calls, and Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection were two of my favorites.
The Q60 sits tall with plenty of room without depleting backseat space. Leg room is plentiful in the back seat.
There is no Government 5-Star Safety Rating as of this writing.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price starts at $60,200 for the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD.
