(Scroll down for video) A newborn baby was in grave danger when suddenly a homeless man came to the rescue, according to statements from the family.

The homeless man did everything perfectly well when he saved the life of a child born in a truck stop in Oklahoma with the umbilical cord around the neck.

“I would describe him a bit like looking like Jesus,” truck stop employee Waneva Morris said. “He had long hair and a long beard. Just a very nice gentleman,” he told the local TV station.
The mother, Keaton Mason said she does not know if the baby would have survived if not for the homeless stranger coming to the rescue.

“He was our angel of the night, that’s for sure,” Mason said.
Mason and his girlfriend were driving home on October 11, when she went into labor four weeks early.
The couple stopped at an Oklahoma City truck stop in panic and called 911.
The baby arrived promptly, born in the front seat of their Honda.
She was not breathing.

“The lady was screaming, ‘My baby, my baby is blue, she’s not breathing’”, witness Jennifer Morris said.
That’s when a homeless man identified as Gary Wilson calmly got on the phone with 911 and executed medical instructions.
He freed the cord from around the baby’s neck, cutting it off and rubbed the baby’s back as she

began to breathe on her own.

“He did everything perfectly well,” paramedic Sandra Lesperance told the local TV station.
In the 911 call, Wilson’s voice sounds sure and clear.
“He actually kept pretty quiet,” Mason said. “He said all is well. She’s fine, she’s breathing.”

Tatum Brown was born 4 pounds, 11 ounces and is now doing well, her mother said.

Wilson was gone the next day, telling people he was making his way from Montana to Jacksonville, Florida.
