Large company and government websites suffered from hacker attacks allegedly coming from Iranian hackers.
An Iranian professional hacker has been arrested in Iran after hacking over 1,000 foreign websites, most of which were U.S. and Israeli websites, the iranian news media reported.
South Khorasan province police chief Col. Gholamreza Hosseini said police managed to successfully stop the hacker responsible for attacks through Facebook.
The interrogation revealed that among the sites attacked by the hacker, was the site of the National Television Network of Iran.
During interrogation, the detained hacker said he launched the attack on the Iranian TV channel and other websites to express support for the earthquake victims in East Azerbaijan province of Iran.
Several days ago the Eastern Province city of Azerbaijan was destroyed by an earthquake, which, according to recent reports injured over 50 people. Most of the wounded were children attending school.
Speaking of the other websites hacked, the detainee said he wanted to show Israel and the U.S., how defenseless they were when it comes to internet security.
