(Scroll down for video) Several wild horses stopped traffic on a popular New Jersey highway by running around on the road, according to video uploaded to the internet.

State Police had to play cowboy after three horses and a pony escaped from a farm and hit the Atlantic City Expressway in Winslow Township, halfway between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Atlantic City, New Jersey. Police managed to corral the horses along the side of the road. No animals or humans were hurt.

This is not the first time animals disrupt a busy highway.
A herd of cows caused a chain reaction car accident on Route 168 Sunday night.
The drivers said the accident happened just after 11:00 pm in Hickory Township, Lawrence County.

Michael Brown said he was heading north on the highway when he saw five cows in front of him. Brown said he hit two of the cows after trying to make a sudden stop.

Brown said he left his car and tried to warn drivers about the impending situation, but a woman from New Castle and another driver crashed behind her when she stopped to prevent hitting the animals.

“This man was standing on the side of the road with a flashlight. He had hit two cows and stopped before reaching the other cows and got hit from behind,” said the driver from Wesley Sub.

No human was seriously injured. All three vehicles were towed from the scene and suffered severe damage. Sadly two cows died.
It is not immediately known where the cows came from or who owns them. State police are investigating.
