The statement said that at least 10 insurgents were also injured and five arrested in the Afghan army men’s operations.
The operations were conducted in Kapisa, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Zabul, Herat and Helmand provinces, the statement said.
“During the same 24 hour period, the Afghan National Police discovered and defused 47 different types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Laghman and Urozgan provinces,” it said.
The Afghan National Security Forces launched all-out military operations against militants after taking the full responsibility of security from NATO forces in January this year.
