The casualties come after powerful explosive devices ripped through the crowd near Mardan in the restive northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
Security sources say the explosion happened at the funeral of a man named Abdullah, who was killed in a firing incident the previous day.
A prominent provincial lawmaker belonging to Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) was also reported to be killed in the deadly incident.
About 50 other people were also injured in the fatal blast. Medical sources say the death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
No group has yet claimed responsibility, but pro-Taliban militants usually take the blame for similar attacks in the violence-wracked country.
The blast is the worst such attack in the volatile region since the May national elections installed a new government.
The developments came days after heavily armed militants bombed a bus carrying female university students in southwestern city of Quetta, the capital of the Balochistan Province, on Saturday afternoon, leaving 14 students dead and 19 others wounded.
About 90 minutes later, the militants attacked the hospital in the city treating survivors from the bus bombing, killing 11 more citizens and injuring 17 people.
Thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks since 2001, when Pakistan entered an alliance with the US in the so-called war on terror.
Thousands more have been displaced by the wave of violence and militancy sweeping across the country.
