The mourners gathered in Savar, near the capital Dhaka on Tuesday, a day after the army finished the almost three-week search for bodies among the ruins.
The mourners accompanied by the relatives of some 100 people who are still missing asked for the salvation of victims of the garment factory building.
In the mean time, some major world fashion retailers including Hennes & Mauritz and Inditex have sponsored the Accord on Fire and Building Safety which includes regulations on safety inspections and requires retailers to pay for factory repairs in Bangladesh.
On April 24, an industrial building known as the Rana Plaza which made cheap clothing for major Western designers in Europe and the US, collapsed while thousands of workers were present. The latest death toll of the accident stands at 1227.
A probe revealed that the building was poorly constructed and the hired engineers and factory owners had allegedly instructed the workers to continue working despite having knowledge that there were cracks throughout the building.
Security forces have arrested twelve people in connection with the disaster.
The workers have held several protests calling for tough punishment for those responsible for the accident, and stronger safety regulations.
