FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Russia’s Atomstroyexport announced in a Friday statement that the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran will reach its full capacity on May 23.
The power plant is currently generating electricity at 75 percent of its nominal capacity of 1000 megawatts, the statement said.
Atomstroyexport pointed to the test conducted on the equipment of the plant on May 1, saying that the power plant successfully generated electricity at 90 percent of its capacity during the test process.
The Russian contractor underlined the importance of safety procedures in the construction of the Bushehr plant, and reiterated that the facility is fully compliant with the international safety standards as well as the provisions of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, adding that its operations are thoroughly conducted under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The initial construction of the nuclear power plant began in 1975 by German companies, but the work was halted following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
In 1995, Iran and Russia reached an agreement to complete the project, but power generation was delayed several times due to a number of technical and financial problems.
