Canberra is recovering from its wettest week in more than 60 years.
Nearly 200mm fell at the city’s airport during the seven days up until Sunday, with 75mm more recorded in the national capital’s southern suburbs.
It was the biggest seven-day fall since 1950, the Bureau of Meteorology said on Monday.
The ACT State Emergency Service received 941 calls for help during the week.
Of those, 17 jobs remain outstanding. Crews will start attending the final jobs from 7am (AEDT) after authorities stood them down for a break late on Sunday night.
Canberra already has recorded half its average long-term annual rainfall in little more than two months.
Lake Burley Griffin remains closed for public use as contaminated water pours in from the flooded Molonglo River.
The Molonglo and Queanbeyan rivers fell below the moderate flood level overnight.
