Prosecutors are investigating him for alleged manslaughter, causing a
shipwreck and abandoning the luxury liner while many of the 4,200 passengers
and crew were still aboard.
At least 17 people died in the incident and 15 are missing.
On Friday afternoon Italian officials said rough seas have increased movements
of the crippled Concordia and are thwarting the start of fuel removal a
month after the cruise ship capsized off the Tuscan Giglio island on January
13.
