Christof Lehmann (nsnbc) : The Syrian delegation to the Geneva II conference succeeded in putting counterterrorism on top of the agenda of the talks about the country. Thousands of Syrians in major cities defied all dangers and turned out to protest against terrorism and to voice their support of the Syrian military and the government’s fight against the menace of foreign-backed terrorists.
On 12 February, the official Syrian delegation to the Geneva II conference succeeded in putting counterterrorism on the agenda of the talks, as outlined in the 2012 Geneva Communiqué.
The decision was made on Wednesday, during a joint session between the official Syrian delegation and the delegation of the foreign-backed coalition, in the presence of the joint UN/AL Spåecial Envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, reports the Syrian news agency SANA.
