Shimon Peres, the president of the Israeli regime, sits with children during a visit to an elementary school in the city of Sderot, near the besieged Gaza Strip, on November 14, 2012.
The Jewish Agency for Israel is taking 3,200 Israeli children who live within a 15-kilometer radius of the Gaza Strip in the south for a “day of fun” in northern Israel.
The agency, which is supported by donations from the Jewish Federations of North America and other Jewish foundations and donors across the globe, says it has arranged to take the children and teenagers for respite in different facilities across the occupied lands on Sunday.
“Additional respite activities are being planned for later in the week in partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America,” the agency said in a statement issued on Saturday.
This is while the Palestinian children are being killed and injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Over 70 Palestinians, including more than a dozen children, have been killed and at least 500 others have been wounded in airstrikes carried out by the Israeli regime on Gaza since November 14.
