NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — An investigator says a former Rutgers University student accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate‘s intimate encounters with another man did several Internet searches seeking information on his roommate.
Investigator Gary Charydzcak (CHARD’-zack) told jurors on Tuesday that Dharun Ravi (dah-ROON’ RAH-vee) did searches for Tyler Clementi on at least five search engines after he learned who his roommate would be.
Twenty-year-old Ravi faces 15 criminal counts, including bias intimidation and invasion of privacy.
Testimony is scheduled to resume Wednesday for the ninth day.
Ravi’s roommate, Tyler Clementi, jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge in September 2010, just days after the alleged spying.
