FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Judicial sources say Mubarak appeared in court just days after his release from prison on Thursday. The former ruler is facing a retrial on charges of complicity in the killing of protesters during the 2011 uprising.
His two sons along with former interior minister and six security chiefs were also present in the court.
Mubarak was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in June last year. In January, the highest appeals court ordered a retrial.
He was flown to the court under tight security from a military hospital. He has been held there under house arrest since his release from prison.
Mubarak’s release threatens to increase tensions across the North African country. The country plunged into turmoil after the army overthrew former president Mohamed Morsi on July 3.
Meanwhile, Egyptian security forces have arrested hundreds of Morsi supporters in recent days as the military-backed government has tried to end weeks of protests and to stamp its authority on the deeply polarized North African nation.
Egypt’s interim Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim says the crackdown on the Brotherhood will continue until all wanted figures are captured.
At least 1000 people, including nearly 100 soldiers and police, have died in the country since August 14, when security forces of the interim government launched a brutal crackdown on thousands of pro-Morsi protesters in Cairo.
The massacre has sparked international condemnation and prompted world bodies to call for an independent investigation into the violence.
