A FIGHT over a car space preceded an elderly man’s death at a suburban police station.
The 78-year-old is believed to have told police he was assaulted after an argument with two men in Croydon on Saturday night.
He laid a complaint at the Croydon police station about 6pm but died soon after.
Police and ambulance officers could not save him.
Homicide detectives have spoken to two men, aged 24 and 57, over the incident, which was allegedly sparked by debate over a car space.
The pair, from Croydon, have been released without charge.
Autopsy results will be crucial in determining whether any injuries suffered by the man caused his death.
