Emerging Stocks Poised for Four-Month Low on Bird Flu

Bloomberg – Emerging stocks were poised for the lowest level since November, led by airlines, on concern about a bird flu outbreak in China and escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula. The won weakened to an eight-month low. EVA Airways Corp. (2618) and China Airlines Ltd. (2610) paced declines among Taiwanese carriers amid speculation that flu deaths may deter people from traveling. Central European Distribution Corp., Poland’s second-biggest vodka producer, plunged to a record low after filing for U.S. bankruptcy protection.
