A Darwin family woke up to a frightening sight early yesterday — 1.7-metre saltwater crocodile in their living room.
The Dodd family found the unwelcome visitor in their Bees Creek home after their dog woke them up barking frantically, ABC News reports.
They spotted the huge reptile lurking in their living area, which is partly open to surrounding bush.
“It was the most freakiest thing, you don’t usually see a 1.5-metre crocodile in your lounge room,” Jo Dodd told the ABC.
Dani Best, from the Northern Territory’s Crocodile Management Unit, said it was not uncommon for crocodiles to enter suburban areas at this time of year, when males are competing for territory.
