Green Education Services, an Accredited EPA Lead Certification Training Provider (http://www.greenedu.com/epa-lead-rrp-overview/), recently announced it has been awarded a training contract with the Ulster County Health Department to provide free EPA Lead Renovator training and certification for contractors and home renovators in New York.
Effective April 2010 the Lead Renovator Certification, issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is now required for contractors who perform renovations, repairs, or painting that disturb lead paint in housing, schools, and day care centers built before 1978. The 8-hour training course emphasizes lead-safe work practices, and concludes with a certification exam.
“The adverse health effects of lead dust and chips created from renovations are a serious threat for both adults and children,” commented Green Education Services CEO Zachary Rose. “We are proud to be partnering with Ulster County to provide accessible, quality training on best lead safety practices, awarding valuable certification to workers across the state.”
The 1-day courses will be held monthly in Kingston, NY beginning on June 15, 2012, and are open to anyone interested in earning the EPA Lead Safe Certification for Renovations.
