Terminator to Terminate U.S. Constitution in 2016.
Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that:
“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States” [1]
A recent article by Infowars [2] is well worth reading, because it helps you to see beyond the visible facade and speaks about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s desire to become a President of the United States, something which is impossible for him to achieve according to the U.S. Constitution. Although the article is well informed, I still felt like I could add some thoughts to it.
First of all I would like to say that I always liked Arnold as an actor. I also was his fan during the time I was engaged in bodybuilding in my youth. I had his posters in my room, I watched his movies. But then I was a child and I thought like a child. Part of the process of growing up is putting aside childish things.
Looking at Arnold today through different glasses I see another image – an image of a man on a power hunt.
As it was reported by Infowars; in 1976, Arnie told Rolling Stone:
“I feel you only can have a few leaders… and then the rest is followers. I feel that I am the born leader and that I’ve always impressed with being the leader. I hate to be the follower. I had this when I was a little boy… I didn’t think about money. I thought about the fame, about just being the greatest. I was dreaming about being some dictator of a country or some savior like Jesus.”
As it becomes apparent from his own words, his motive to become a president is egocentric. Being the leader and being the greatest seems to be a far greater concern for him than concern for his country and needs of the people.
And while his desire to be the greatest in the field of sport or acting is totally fine, reaching out to the presidential seat would seem to be a stretch.
It is one thing to work on your body while racing for fame, and quite another to destroy the country in the process.
What would America mean without its Constitution? A welfare state with lots of buildings and a traffic jam? What makes America great is its Constitution, which is already under attack. [3]

Arnold’s attempt to change the Constitution in order for him to become President sets a very dangerous precedent since changing the Constitution once could shatter its integrity and mean the beginning of its end. And while for Arnold it could simply mean another tournament, for the American people it can become a total loss of their liberties.
It would be bad enough if the wish to change U.S. Constitution would be a desperate desire of a single person. But is it?
Could it be that his desire is supported and encouraged by the people who are less known and yet are more influential than him? Recent attacks on the U.S. Constitution force one to think in that direction.
What a great idea that would be to bring celebrity and the archetype of Savior to the presidential race while resurrecting hope for change with a new and yet familiar face which evokes sympathy in many? Can one who was already nominated Mr. Universe [4] get a nomination to become a Mr. President as well?
After all, who would play a better role in the political theater than an actor?
