‘Iran, provider of global energy security’

“Our country is not comparable to what it was before the Islamic Revolution and before the Iraq imposed war. It has developed several capabilities,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said at a Tuesday ceremony, marking the 32nd anniversary of the disgraceful defeat of the US forces at Tabas attack.

He added that Iran’s strength has increased during the past twenty years, saying “the Islamic Republic has reduced dependency on other countries by using domestic equipment and is expanding its capabilities.”

The Iranian commander added that, “The US animosity towards Iran is not of a political, economical or cultural nature. It is only of ‘right and wrong’ nature and this enmity will continue as long as ‘right and wrong’ exist.”

Rear Admiral Fadavi concluded that Iran will never let the US hegemony expand in the world.

In April 1983, the United States attempted to secretly land aircraft and troops near Tabas, along the Dasht-e Kavir desert in eastern Iran.

Two helicopters on the mission failed, and when the mission commander decided to abort the mission, a helicopter and a C-130 transport aircraft collided, killing eight United States servicemen.
