During a meeting with his visiting Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in Tehran on Sunday, Brigadier General Vahidi said both countries have fought against imperialist and arrogant powers to topple despotic rulers and establish free democratic systems.
He condemned the unjust sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe, expressing hope that the country could soon rebuild its economic engine.
Brigadier General Vahidi praised the economic and political relationship between Tehran and Harare, stressing that the formation of six different joint commissions is an indicative of the fact that the two countries enjoy amicable relations in all fields.
Mnangagwa, for his part, said the Zimbabwean nation and government have managed to neutralize the Western sanctions, adding that they safeguard their independence through resistance.
The Zimbabwean minister also hailed great achievements made by the Iranian nation, adding that the Iranians steadfastly defend their country’s independence and interests.
He also called for the promotion of all-out cooperation between Iran and Zimbabwe.
