Dylan Siegel and Jonah Pournazarian

(Scroll down for video) Dylan Siegel, is only 6-years-old. He was determined to raise money for his ailing best friend, Jonah Pournazarian.

He came up with an idea of writing his own kids book, sell it and give the proceeds to find a cure for his friend’s disease. His idea turned out to be a great hit.

Sadly, Pournazarian, has a rare liver disease, called Glycogen Storage Disease.

Glycogen Storage Disease is a metabolic disorder that requires administering doses of cornstarch through a feeding tube around the clock.

Siegel, who lives in California, wanted to raise money to help find a cure for his friend Jonah’s liver disease. His parents suggested they make a bake sale or a lemonade stand, but Siegel, had his own idea, he wanted to write a children’s book.

He wrote a book called “Chocolate Bar”. “The Chocolate Bar” means “awesome” everything that is good, great or awesome is referred to “The Chocolate Bar.”Family, friends and colleagues, pitched in to get the book printed and ready for sale. Their local Whole Foods store donated chocolate bars.

Then the book made its first debut at a special “good deeds” event at a boy’s school. More than 200

books and 150 custom wrapped chocolate bars were sold out quickly, for a total of $6,000 in just a few hours.

To date, the 6-year-old boy’s idea, raised $25,000. This includes the money raised in a special book reading at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles, California. Amazingly in just one day, $5,000 worth of books were sold. The books were signed by six-year author Siegel and his best friend Pournazarian.

Now, Siegel set a new goal. He hopes to reach $1,000,000 to find a cure for Pournazarian.
