I have added a new page to the site which will be permanently linked at the top of each page simply called “Third Reich”, which features the following article:
LIFE IN THE THIRD REICH
by Friedrich Kurreck
The rise of Hitler, his achievements, why the Germans loved and supported him, the true reasons for the war and who was behind it, as well as, a comparison of the world political situation then and now, with a critique of modern day Germany (the FRG).
The article first appeared in a series of articles in the weekly newspaper, ‘Der Schlesier’, between July 26 to August 16th, 2002, translated by Eric Thomson.
Friedrich Kurreck states:
“I am happy to inform you about our life in Hitler’s time, for today’s politicians and mass media are purposefully untruthful about that time. I hope this article will give you a better perspective from the German standpoint, without the usual propaganda and editorializing which you can always expect from mainstream sources. What Mr. Kurreck also shared from a historical perspective is supported by many authentic historical quotes. His testimony very much reflects what I heard growing up form my own parents, relatives and family friends who grew up in NS Germany era and who survived the war and the aftermath.
Additionally, 2 years ago, Deanna Spingola also interviewed a survivor Gerhard Strauch, I had a number of conversations with him myself and we corresponded on occasion, but he was having health issues and we subsequently lost contact. I am not sure if he is still with us today, however, and I am very pleased and honoured to share this with interview and his story with my readers:
Deanna Spingola and Gerhard Strauch – Life in the Third Reich and Germany During WWII
Finally, I would also like to draw your attention to a wonderful page created by Rodney Martin of World View Foundations in which there are a number of interviews which he conducted with several Third Reich and WWII survivors.
