TreeHugger founder Graham Hill’s LifeEdited project has a small footprint in real estate but a big one on this site, embodying so many of the ideas we have been talking about for years. He teamed up with another TreeHugger favorite, Jonathan Rose Companies, and Curtis + Ginsberg Architects, to design CO: Compact, Connected, Complete

Each unit would have a balcony and 10-foot ceilings, and like many of these other proposals, the building would include lots of community space.

Here is a definite TreeHugger touch:

One fun feature not included in other proposals: a product lending library, where residents would be able to borrow cookware, for example, instead of needing to store it in their micro units.

The units definitely have a LifeEdited vibe- clean, modern and a place for everything.

Tasteful and restrained.

One doesn’t actually lose a competition like this; you practice for the real thing. I have no doubt that we will see these units built somewhere else in New York soon, there are too many good ideas here to just get filed in a drawer.
