FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Samsung may have gotten a head start with their Galaxy S III launch, but this past week brought plenty of action to the Android handset scene at CTIA. There’s an impressive lineup of upcoming Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices, as well as more LTE handsets than you can shake a stick at. CTIA has been a hotbed of gadgets for the mobile maven, including a new collection from LG, a smart TV from Lenovo and the latest Xperia devices from Sony.
LG LTE lineup
LG took full advantage of the global stage at CTIA this year, showcasing a new lineup of Android LTE handsets. The new collection spans consumer budgets with the affordable LG Viper, the image-enhancing Spectrum, the high-speed Lucid and Nitro, and the compact Connect. The devices come with 4G LTE support, the Viper set to run on Sprint’s network. It comes with a 1.2GHz dual core processor, NFC and Google Wallet, and eco-friendly materials.
The Spectrum comes with an extra-sharp 4.5-inch True HD IPS display, packing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 4G LTE support. Its Android 2.3 version will be upgradable to ICS, and comes preloaded with a range of apps. Also running 2.3 Gingerbread is the LG Connect for MetroPCS, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 4-inch NOVA display and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.
For multitaskers is the high-end LG Lucid, with a dual-core processor, a 4-inch Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen, outdoor visibility and an auto-adjust feature, while the LG Nitro HD for ATT has a high-def display with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
Running ICS is the LG Optimus 4X HDLG quad-core smartphone, combining Nvidia’s latest 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor with a 4.7-inch Tru HD IPS display. The idea is to offer the highest resolution, with an 8-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor camera complete with LED flash.
LG is also expected to launch a smart TV running Android’s platform, hitting the U.S. after May 21. The manufacturer is looking to make its mark in the Google TV space, where it faces rivals like Samsung and Lenovo.
Lenovo K-Series Smart TV
As LG seeks market share in the U.S., Lenovo looks to China for Android-based TV sales. Known for its computers, Lenovo’s entry into the Chinese smart TV market is a big move for the manufacturer. The K-Series will come in four models, ranging from 42- to 55-inch screens, and will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The TVs come with Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processors, and a slew of interactive features to compete with Apple, as well as other Android OEMs. No word on Lenovo’s plans for a U.S. launch for the K-Series.
Sony Xperia SX and GX
The Xperia line has been a success for struggling Sony, which was an early supporter of mobile gaming on the Android platform. Its latest additions to the family are the lightweight Xperia SX and GX, the latter featuring a 13-megapixel camera to rival them all. These are the first Sony-branded smartphones to launch in Japan, offering potential download speeds of up to 75Mbps over LTE networks, according to the company. Both are powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processors and will run Android 4.0 ICS, a welcome relief after months of delayed ICS upgrades to Sony’s other Xperia devices. The GX also has a 4.6-inch HD screen and 16GB of internal flash storage. The SX, on the other hand, is smaller with a 3.7-inch screen, and weighs only 95 grams, the lightest on the market. Sony does have the LTE-equipped Xperia ion for the U.S. market, with a 12-megapixel camera.
