A man has been hit in the neck with a arrow while walking in Sydney’s northwest.
The 24-year-old was walking on Cobar Way in Macquarie Park about 5.30pm (AEDT) on Tuesday when he was struck by an arrow, police said.
The arrow caused a small laceration to the right side of his neck, and the man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment.
Police spoke with a 23-year-old man at a nearby home, where they found a bow and a number of arrows, which they seized for forensic examination.
The 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station where he was released pending further inquiries.
Police said that it appears the arrow was fired in the backyard of the home and passed through a fence, striking the man in the neck.
The two men don’t know each other.
