Man stabbed in Christmas Day row
A MAN has suffered a stab wound to his chest when Christmas Day drinks with family members turned ugly on the Central Coast.
Police found the wounded 48-year-old man at a home in Morisset about 8:30pm yesterday.
He was taken by ambulance to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital for treatment to the non life-threatening injury, police say.
Police have been told the injured man had been drinking with family members before an argument broke out with another man.
It will be alleged the offender stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.
Officers arrested the man nearby after a brief foot pursuit.
The 21-year-old man, from nearby Windermere Park, was charged with malicious wounding and resist arrest.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Monday).
