Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj told North Korean university students and professors to try to “live free,” saying “no tyranny lasts forever.”
In the speech at the Kim Il-Sung University on Oct. 31 before wrapping up his four-day visit to North Korea, the Mongolian leader also called for the reclusive communist nation to emulate Mongolia’s model of economic transformation.
“No tyranny lasts forever. It is the desire of the people to live free that is the eternal power,” Elbegdorj said in the speech, according to the English-language transcript released by his presidential office.
“I believe in the power of freedom. Freedom is an asset bestowed upon every single man and woman. Freedom enables every human to discover and realize his or her opportunities and chances for development,” he said.
