NickMom recently declared a winner in the quest to name the “Greatest TV Mom.” It started with a bracket and 16 names (March Madness of a different variety, anyone?), but there could only be one.
We’ll be taking a look at the 16 names they put up for the illustrious title of Greatest TV Mom, until uncovering their declared title-holder as of April 8, 2013. It’s a near certainty that there will be times this TV Moms Examiner will beg to differ and we’ll definitely throw out some names that we think were worthy of being included in the running. For now, though, let’s take a look at who made the cut…
Upon examining the bracket of the 16 TV moms that were competing for Greatest TV Mom it seemed that some of the comparisons were a little…Well, hard to compare. But that’s what NickMom asked their readers to do, and by golly they delivered. On one side of the bracket there was Roseanne Conner – “Roseanne,” Marie Barone – “Everybody Loves Raymond,” Tami Taylor – “Friday Night Lights,” Jill Taylor – “Home Improvement,” Angela Bower – “Who’s the Boss,” Clair Huxtable – “The Cosby Show,” Carmela Soprano – “The Sopranos,” Kitty Foreman – “That ‘70s Show.” On the other side of the bracket vying for the title were Ma Ingalls – “The Little House On the Prairie,” June Cleaver – “Leave It To Beaver,” Lucy Ricardo – “I Love Lucy,” Marion Cunningham – “Happy Days,” Marge Simpson – “The Simpsons,” Gloria Pritchett – “Modern Family,” Carol Brady – “The Brady Bunch,” and Shirley Partridge – “The Partridge Family.”
