Pakistanis protest Shia massacre

More than 1,500 people, including women and children, rallied in eastern city of Lahore in Punjab Province on Sunday, demanding the end of what they call “the bloodshed against Shia community.”

The protest rally was organized by the Shia Rabta Committee Pakistan (SRCP).

Similar protest rallies were also held in Rawalpindi, Quetta, Abbottabad and other cities of Pakistan.

The protesters condemned the continuous killing of innocent people, urging the government to take decisive measures to end sectarian violence and protect religious minorities.

The country’s Shia leaders have also called on the government to form a judicial commission to investigate the crimes.

Over the past few days, dozens of innocent Shia Muslims from the Hazara community, including women and children, have been killed in Balochistan.

The killing of Shias in Pakistan has climbed to such extent that it has caused international outrage, with rights groups and regional countries, including Iran, expressing concerns over the persisting act of genocide.

Protest events against the ongoing brutal massacre of innocent Shia Muslims in Pakistan have been held in countries across the world, including the US, the UK, and Canada.

Saudi-inspired Wahhabi terrorist groups have been engaged in a violent campaign against Shias in Pakistan, Iraq and elsewhere over the past few years.
