FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Witnesses said Saturday that riot police fired tear gas to disperse protesters angry at what they call Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s failure to fulfill his campaign promises.
The protesters staged the demonstration one day after nine people were shot dead on Friday, which was the second anniversary of the 2011 revolution that toppled former dictator Hosni Mubarak.
They tried to attack the city’s main police station. However, their attempt was thwarted by police forces.
Similar clashes also broke out in the capital city of Cairo as security guards tried to disperse demonstrators on the streets near the Liberation Square.
Meanwhile, the National Salvation Front, Egypt’s main opposition party, has threatened to boycott upcoming parliamentary elections if the president does not find a “comprehensive solution” to the ongoing crisis in the country.
The opposition says it will “not participate in the next parliamentary elections,” if Morsi fails to create a “national salvation” government.
