New South Wales Police say they have arrested 42 people during a weekend crackdown on criminal and anti-social behaviour on public transport.
Trains, buses and ferries across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Hunter and the Illawarra have been targeted during the two-night operation to boost commuter safety.
A total of 43 charges have been laid for offences including assault, malicious damage, possession of drugs and knives and offensive behaviour.
The Public Transport Command was launched earlier this month to provide an increased police presence on the transport network.
