President Barack Obama is closing out 2013 with his approval rating at an all-time low, according to a new poll, a year after he defeated Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to earn a second term in office.
The CNN/ORC International survey showed that 41 percent of Americans approve of the president’s job performance, a full 14-point drop from the beginning of 2013 when his approval was at 55 percent.
Fifty-six percent of those surveyed in Friday’s poll said they disapproved of Obama’s handling of his job.
The same poll showed that while 40 percent disapprove of Obama because they believe he is too liberal, 12 percent disapprove of his job performance because they believe he is not liberal enough.
The survey of 1,035 adults was conducted Dec. 16-19 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Politico
