In his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Mehmanparast said the recent popular revolutions and movements in the region have threatened the Israeli interests.
The Iranian official added that those states seeking to escalate the Syrian unrest are trying to provide Israel with an escape.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
While the West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of the killings, Damascus blames ”outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
Sporadic clashes between armed groups and government forces in Syria have continued despite a ceasefire that took effect on April 12.
Mehmanparast also condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Syria and the massacre of the innocent people in the town of Houla.
Commenting on the upcoming talks between Iran and the P5+1 in Moscow, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tehran has announced time and again that it only pursues its nuclear energy program in line with the country’s rights within the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The Iranian official added that Tehran would not back down on its nuclear rights.
Iran and the P5+1 (Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany) wrapped up their meeting in Baghdad on May 24, after two days of negotiations. The two sides have agreed to hold another meeting in Moscow on June 18-19.
