A man has been arrested for the murder of a woman whose body was discovered in an Adelaide backyard.

A 51-YEAR-OLD man is expected to be charged with murdering a woman whose body was found in the backyard of a home north of Adelaide.
The body of Dianne Rogan, who is in her 50s, was discovered at the Whyalla house on Friday morning.
Detectives arrested a Whyalla man on Monday afternoon and police say he is expected to be charged with murder.
He is expected to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Police will allege the man knew his victim and it was not a random event.
